A Little About Me…
In 1997, becoming a mother initiated my interest in attending retreats. Not only to get away, so that I could come back refreshed and ready to be an enthusiastic mother, wife, and friend to those around me, but to explore my own personal spirituality. Attending these retreats introduced me to a variety of different techniques used to learn about oneself such as art, dance, play, music and movement, meditation and chanting, and even being silent. I use many of these techniques learned to create a fun and interesting family and children’s yoga practice. I continue to attend a variety of workshops throughout the Country and Bay Area to gain new ideas and continually update my teaching practice.
I was introduced to yoga, and meditation and chanting, in the year 2004, when I first moved to Danville, CA. and discovered in my own neighborhood the beautiful San Damiano Retreat center. This particular yoga and meditation retreat featured world renowned Yogi Russill Paul and his wife Asha. Russill trained simultaneously as a monk and yogi under the direction of the renowned sage and mystic, Bede Griffiths, in South India for close to five years and has taught in graduate and post-graduate spirituality programs for 17 years. This “Out of the box Yoga” retreat started my yoga journey and it has continued passionately ever since.
In the year 2007, I discovered (again in my very own neighborhood) the Danville Yoga Center and inspired by the many diverse yoga teachers who teach there, I became hooked on Yoga for Life!
My journey continues...
in October of 2009, I completed the highest and most prestigious teaching program offered through the internationally recognized children’s yoga teacher Marsha Wenig and her organization YogaKids International.
In February of 2011, I completed the Advanced Studies Program at the Yoga & Movement Center in Walnut Creek, CA., with a focus on Iyengar and Yoga Therapy methodologies.
The journey has come full circle, and on October of 2010, I was accepted into Russill Paul's 'Yoga Mystery School of Transformation'; a three year program to study the Yoga of Sound and the fascinating depth of mantra, meditation, and music.
I look forward to sharing with you and your children the healthy and mindful lifestyle of yoga!
A Warm Namaste,
